The 1920’s Charlies
About The 1920’s Charlies
The Charleston Charlies were snatched by aliens whilst performing at The Savoy Ballroom in 1927. Deposited in second millennia UK still in their twenties garb, the chaps have been entertaining and amusing contemporary audiences ever since.
The Charleston Charlies play a delightful repertoire of quirky and original tunes from the 1920’s and 30’s.
In July 2012 they were honoured to play by request for Prince Charles and Camilla during their tour of the island.
In September 2012 they played at The Benevolence Ball at Cafe de Paris, organised by Sir Timothy Ackroyd and Chief Superintendent David Clarke, (City of London Police).
Since then they have gone on to perform at hundreds of events from 1920’s festivals, 1920’s themed parties, weddings, birthdays, corporate events… the list goes on!

“Oscar and the boys have given us some wonderful memories.”
Maureen Lipman, October 25 2012
Not since the glory days of the ‘Frothy, bubbly cabaret’ called ‘Summer Time Frolics’, when the Café de Paris opened its doors to the starlets and party goers of the world; has a London nightclub seen anything to compare with you sensational chaps. Thank you for accompanying me on my special journey back to 1932; for helping us raise funds for a very good cause; and bringing such warmth to so many hearts.
Sir Timothy Ackroyd - Benevolence Ball, Cafe de Paris on September 4th 2012
